When I ended the Winter Black series, it was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make. Winter was what started this whole adventure. So in many ways, it didn’t feel right ending it. But it also felt like it was time. She had earned her rest.
The ending was right. But the world didn’t feel finished.

This series has strong female characters that stand up for whats right in the face of evil. Winters return to the world she left behind makes a compelling stand for good. I would have loved having these strong women in my life growing up. Winters return is another example of women standing up for whats right in a world that seems to want to silence womens voices, Mary has given us hope, even through fiction that we belong and are as intelligent and sometimes even smarter than our male counterparts. Noah is not choosing to just stand by her, he is choosing to believe she has as much if not more to offer. As someone who has lost women to killers I know that even though I am reading fiction, strong women law enforcement both local and federal do exist. Thank you Mary for bringing back some of our beloved characters. Once I start one I can't wait to see where they take us next
